O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar as operações de paz na República de Ruanda e na República Democrática do Congo e a influência que a história e as missões tiveram nos dois países até o momento da última atuação da Organização das Nações Unidas. São apresentadas para a análise todas as missões de paz da ONU na África subsaariana para melhor visualização dos conflitos nos países africanos, e como há uma ligação entre as situações encontradas neles. Foram utilizadas para essa pesquisa fontes primárias, em especial quando o assunto tratado foi o das operações de paz da ONU. Pôde ser concluído que as intervenções externas causam grande impacto nos países africanos, e que o agravamento da violência, mesmo com a presença de organizações internacionais, está marcado pela não colaboração dos países vizinhos aos que a missão está situada, ou até mesmo pelo financiamento de governos ditatoriais, por países europeus ou pelos Estados Unidos. A análise feita das missões que tiveram destaque neste trabalho deixa claro que a influência externa, já presente desde os anos de independência dos dois países, a demora de uma resposta da ONU e a má atuação, principalmente em Ruanda durante o genocídio, tiveram impactos que até hoje são visíveis na República Democrática do Congo
The objective of this work is to analyze the peacekeeping operations in the Republic of Rwanda and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the influence that history and the missions had in the two countries until the last operation from the United Nations Organization. Are presented for this analysis all the peace missions from UN in the sub-Saharan Africa for a better visualization from the conflicts in the African countries and how there is a link between the situations found in them. For this search was used primary sources, in special when the subject was the peacekeeping operations from UN. It was concluded that external interventions cause a great impact on African countries and that the worsening of the violence, despite the presence of international organizations, is marked by the absence of cooperation from neighboring countries to which the mission is located or even by the financing of dictatorial governments by Europeans and the United States. The analysis of the missions that were highlighted in this paper makes it clear that external influence, already present since the years of independence in the two countries, the delay of a UN response and poor performance from the organization, especially in Rwanda during the genocide, had impacts visible until this day in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
