A LUTA PELOS DIREITOS HUMANOS E O TRABALHO DO ASSISTENTE SOCIAL: uma abordagem histórica

Resumo
O presente artigo busca provocar algumas discussões acerca do trabalho do
assistente social e seus impactos na contemporaneidade, elucidando suas reais
contribuições para o processo de construção da cidadania e justiça social. Para
tanto, necessário se faz entender a evolução histórica dos direitos humanos, na
busca por uma genealogia deste conceito, os avanços e retrocessos que a luta
pelos direitos fundamentais do homem sofreu ao longo da história da humanidade e
sua relação com o papel do assistente social, para tanto, conta com o auxílio da
ciência histórica como disciplina auxiliar na busca do melhor entendimento dessa
questão. No decorrer deste trabalho são esboçados importantes fatos que
envolveram a luta por direitos, consubstanciando com o surgimento do profissional
do assistente social não apenas como aliado dos mais humildes, mas também
como responsável pela ampliação ou transformação dos direitos garantidores da
cidadania plena. Como resultado foi possivel perceber que o assistente social,
principalmente na contemporaneidade, se revela como um sujeito atuante nas
diversas esferas sociais, daí a necessidade de se buscar as origens do seu
trabalho, fazendo a ponte com o desenvolvimento histórico dos direitos humanos.
This article seeks to provoke some discussions about the work of the social worker and its impacts on contemporary times, elucidating their real contributions to the process of building citizenship and social justice. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the historical evolution of human rights, in the search for a genealogy of this concept, the advances and setbacks that the struggle for fundamental human rights has suffered throughout the history of humanity and its relationship with the role of the social worker, therefore, counts on the help of historical science as an auxiliary discipline in the search for a better understanding of this issue. In the course of this work, important facts are outlined that involved the struggle for rights, consubstantiating with the emergence of the social worker professional not only as an ally of the humblest, but also as responsible for the expansion or transformation of the guaranteeing rights of full citizenship. As a result, it was possible to perceive that the social worker, especially in contemporary times, reveals himself as an active subject in the various social spheres, hence the need to seek the origins of his work, making the bridge with the historical development of human rights.
