Resumo
A presente monografia teve como tema a violência contra a mulher no contexto brasileiro e a Lei Maria da Penha voltada à prevenção do feminicídio. Destacou-se como questão central: qual é a contribuição da Lei Maria da Penha na redução da violência contra as mulheres e na prevenção do feminicídio no contexto brasileiro? Cujo objetivo principal foi analisar as potencialidades da Lei Maria da Penha no enfrentamento da violência contra mulheres e na prevenção do feminicídio, com objetivos específicos que incluíram: contextualizar sobre a violência contra mulheres no Brasil; entender os aspectos gerais do crime de feminicídio e; compreender sobre a Lei Maria da Penha no combate à violência contra mulheres e o feminicídio. Este trabalho é justificado pela importância de estudar a violência contra as mulheres, um tema crucial no contexto acadêmico. Além disso, visa orientar futuras intervenções profissionais, garantindo que sejam mais seguras e fundamentadas em legislações e conhecimentos atualizados. Para isso, foi adotada uma metodologia baseada em um estudo bibliográfico, de natureza qualitativa, descritiva e exploratória. Os principais resultados mostraram que os esforços para eliminar a violência contra a mulher e feminicídio têm feito progressos significativos, mas novas medidas mais eficazes são necessárias. Embora o Brasil tenha leis avançadas, como a Lei Maria da Penha, é necessário garantir sua aplicação efetiva para proteger as mulheres, bem como, um esforço contínuo e coletivo da sociedade para realizar seu pleno potencial.
The theme of this monograph was violence against women in the Brazilian context and the Maria da Penha Law aimed at preventing feminicide. The central question stood out: what is the contribution of the Maria da Penha Law in reducing violence against women and preventing feminicide in the Brazilian context?, whose main objective was to analyze the potential of the Maria da Penha Law in combating violence against women and the prevention of feminicide, with specific objectives that included: contextualizing violence against women in Brazil; understand the general aspects of the crime of femicide and; understand the Maria da Penha Law in combating violence against women and feminicide. This work is justified by the importance of studying violence against women, a crucial topic in the academic context. Furthermore, it aims to guide future professional interventions, ensuring that they are safer and based on up-to-date legislation and knowledge. For this, a methodology was adopted based on a bibliographic study, of a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory nature. The main results showed that efforts to eliminate violence against women and femicide have made significant progress, but new, more effective measures are needed. Although Brazil has advanced laws, such as the Maria da Penha Law, it is necessary to ensure their effective application to protect women, as well as a continuous and collective effort by society to realize their full potential.
