Resumo
Este artigo tem por objetivo a análise do filme Forrest Gump - O contador de histórias, lançado no ano de 1994. Mais especificamente, pretendeu-se aprofundar na investigação do projeto de ser de Forrest, personagem principal da trama. Para tal, observam-se os aspectos antropológicos, sociológicos e psicofísicos do personagem para compreender seus processos psicológicos e seu modo de agir no mundo. O filme foi dividido em três espaços temporais fazendo a descrição de cenas que contemplem: a infância de Forrest, para compreensão de seus contextos e como se deu o início de seu processo de constituição de subjetividade; a adolescência e o atravessamento de suas relações de afeto e o contexto histórico da época; e a fase adulta de Forrest, com seus processos de escolha, o funcionamento da sua dinâmica psicológica e o seu agir no mundo. A análise é feita a partir da perspectiva do existencialismo sartriano e suas noções de constituição de sujeito, além de usar o método biográfico para obter uma compreensão psicológica do personagem estudado. Em conclusão, constata-se que Forrest age no mundo de forma passiva, sem grandes reflexões sobre suas decisões e sobre si mesmo, permeado pela ingenuidade e com seu projeto de ser atravessado pelo projeto daqueles que ama.
This article has as its objective the analysis of the movie Forrest Gump, released in the year 1994. More specifically, delve into investigating Forrest, the story's protagonist, and his project of being. Thus, we observe the character's anthropological, sociological and psychophysical aspects to comprehend his psychological processes and his way of behaving in the world. The film was divided into three time-spaces which describe the scenes which demonstrate: Forrest's childhood, for context comprehension as well as how his subjectivity constitution process was initiated; his adolescence and the crossing of his affectionate relationships and the historical context of his time; and his adulthood, such as his choice processes, the workings of his psychological dynamics and his behavior in the world. The analysis is done from the perspective of Sartrean existentialism and its notions of subject constitution, while also utilizing the biographic method to obtain a psychological comprehension of the character studied herein. In conclusion, one may ascertain that Forrest acts in the world in a passive way, without major reflections on his decisions and on himself, permeated by naïveté and with his project of being run through by the projects of those he loves.
