For the elaboration of the study a qualitative study was used, of exploratory level whose method of procedure adopted was the comparative study. The work was carried out with the intention of evaluating the potential differences between the consumptions of materials required for the massive and ribbed slabs as well as to compare concepts used for both types and to describe procedures and dimensional developments for the slabs. In this case it was found that the ribbed slab is economically more feasible, as it also has its own weight and reactions in the lower beams of the massive slabs.O presente trabalho tem por objetivo investigar a relação custo-benefício entre o uso de lajes dos tipos maciça e nervurada em edifícios multifamiliares. Para elaboração da pesquisa, utilizou-se um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, de nível exploratório, cujo método de procedimento adotado foi o estudo comparativo. O trabalho foi realizado com a intenção de avaliar as potenciais diferenças entre os consumos de materiais necessários para as lajes maciças e nervuradas, como também comparar conceitos utilizados para ambos os tipos e descrever procedimentos e desenvolvimentos dimensionais para as lajes.
