Muitas dessas mudanças tiveram um objetivo em comum, que era o de deixar o meio aeronáutico mais seguro e colocar o risco operacional em um nível cada vez mais aceitável. O presente trabalho buscou entender o avanço dos equipamentos de auxílio à navegação e a sua relação com o aumento da segurança operacional nos voos por instrumentos ao longo dos anos. Foi realizado uma pesquisa exploratória bibliográfica e qualitativa, com a qual foi possível identificar os principais auxílios e sistemas de navegação, bem como perceber e estabelecer uma relação proporcional entre a aplicação de tais tecnologias e uma melhoria na segurança operacional nesse tipo de operação, ou seja, foi possível identificar avanços positivos na segurança operacional nos voos por instrumentos em concordância ao surgimento de novos sistemas e equipamentos de navegação.Since the beginning, the aviation passed through many changes in different aspects. Many of these changes had a common goal, that it was to make the aeronautical environment safer and to put the operational risk in increasingly acceptable level. This study had the goal of understanding the nav-aids equipment advancement and its relationship with the operational safety increasement in the instrument flight through the years. It was accomplished an exploratory bibliographical and qualitative research, with which it was possible to identify the main nav-aids and navigation systems, as well as perceive a proportional relation between the application of these technologies and an operational safety improvement of this kind of operation.
