The objective of the work is to demonstrate the use of Vitamin C in the prevention and treatment of changes resulting from skin aging, describing the benefits of Vitamin C for the skin, through a literature review in the databases: Scielo, Pubmed and Academic Google . The formulations with Vitamin C must use it in its synthesized form, because in its pure form it oxidizes and, consequently, there is no absorption by the skin. Vitamin C has antioxidant activity, depigmenting, photo-rejuvenating, reducing signs of photoaging, acts to fight wrinkles and improves skin texture. It is one of the skin's most powerful antioxidants and due to its antioxidant, neo collagen and skin lightening properties. Its application for anti-aging is due to its action in increasing collagen synthesis, stabilizing collagen fibers and decreasing collagen degradation.
