It is through museums that the social life, ruined by the day-to-day life, recovers its human dimension. Based on that the present work aims the creation of a Center of Interpretation of the Italian-Brazilian Culture in the city of Urussanga/SC. The implementation takes advantage of a historic edification with great cultural potential, the Stone House Cancellier, and proposes a requalification of the house and of the surrounding site, to become appropriate to its new use. The aim is to create a space in which the visitors can live the specificity and the richness of the Italian immigrant culture in the city of Urussanga and region. A place that concentrates representative objects, but that also gives options to the visitor to dive into the universe of the Italian culture through workshops, art crafts, expositions, culinary and other typically Italian activities. It is through such intellectual and affective activities related to different scopes of the Urussanga's culture that the visitors will be thrilled and will discover aspects of the region and its importance to the formation of the country in an intense and pleasant way. O cultural center will become a living space and a reference to the nearby cities, assuming an important role for the cultural and touristic regional development. The methodology for the present work consists of gathering information about the proposed topic, the history and the current physical state of the building and of its area. Moreover, a study of similar projects was done. Finally, based on the acquired information, the architectural environment was designed.O museu é um espaço onde se descobre e se aprende, nele se amplia o conhecimento e se aprofunda a consciência da identidade. Por meio dos museus, a vida social recupera a dimensão humana que se esvai no cotidiano. Atrelado a isso, se fundamenta o objetivo do presente trabalho, a criação de um Centro de Interpretação da Cultura Ítalo-brasileira na cidade de Urussanga/SC. Para a sua implantação tira-se proveito de uma edificação histórica com grande potencial cultural, a Casa de Pedra Cancellier, e propõe-se uma requalificação da casa e do sítio em que está inserida, para abrigar o novo uso. A intenção é criar um espaço no qual os usuários vivenciem a especificidade e a riqueza da cultura do imigrante italiano na cidade de Urussanga e região. Um local que reúna objetos representativos, mas também dê opções ao visitante de mergulhar no universo da cultura italiana através de oficinas, artes, exposições, culinária e atividades típicas. Que através da vivência de experiências afetivas e intelectuais relacionadas aos diferentes âmbitos da cultura de Urussanga, os usuários se surpreendam e descubram, de forma intensa e prazerosa, aspectos da região, bem como da sua importância para a formação do país. Um espaço de convivência para os munícipes e uma referência regional, assumindo importante papel para o desenvolvimento cultural e turístico da região. Para tal, a metodologia envolveu um apanhado geral de informações acerca do tema proposto, o histórico e estado físico atual do imóvel e da área, e um estudo de referenciais projetuais relacionados.
