In this project, we started approaching this teaching in a general way, then going deeper into the subject of Mathematics and then, in the distance teaching of this science, during the pandemic of COVID-19. Finally, a survey was carried out with eight mathematics teachers from Amazonas and their abrupt transition to distance learning, where in addition to graphical data, we have a reflection on this model so widespread in Higher Education, which continues to divide opinions in Basic Education .O presente short paper tem como objetivo compreender o ensino da matemática, no ensino básico, que existe atualmente no Brasil. Nesse projeto iniciamos abordando esse ensino de maneira gerall, em seguida aprofundando na disciplina de Matemática e logo, no ensino a distância dessa ciência, durante a pandemia do COVID-19.
