The present work was developed through literature review and bibliographic survey, with the general objective of evaluating the influence of cervical preparation in endodontic treatment, and as specific objectives, to verify the instruments used in cervical preparation, drawing a comparison about their performances; find out if the cervical preparation has a significant influence on the debris extrusion; as well as to analyze the (ir) fracture resistance of the reciprocating files and their possible reuse. Thus, through this research it was possible to verify the benefits regarding cervical preparation in endodontic treatment, proving to be a method that directly implies the safety and success of the procedure performed by the professional dentist.Precipuamente, cumpre registrar que o preparo cervical é uma técnica utilizada antes da etapa de modelagem do tratamento endodôntico, popularmente chamado de tratamento de canal. O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido através de revisão de literatura e levantamento bibliográfico, tendo como objetivo geral avaliar a influência do preparo cervical no tratamento endodôntico, e como objetivos específicos, verificar os instrumentos utilizados no preparo cervical, traçando um comparativo sobre seus desempenhos; averiguar se o preparo cervical possui influência significativa na extrusão de debris; bem como, analisar a (ir)resistência de fratura das limas reciprocantes e sua possível reutilização.
