Some of its advantages for therapeutic purposes are its rich vascularity, easy to be collected, identical size in all individuals and low complication rates. The aim of this study was to address the use of the oral fat body in various oral lesions / anomalies and aesthetic procedures highlighting the advantages, restrictions and their consequences in oral surgery. Although considered a great alternative for the treatment of facial lesions and anomalies, further studies on the subject are needed. Algumas de suas vantagens para fins terapêuticos são: sua rica vascularização, fácil de ser coletado, tamanho semelhante em todos os indivíduos e baixa taxa de complicações. O objetivo deste estudo foi abordar sobre a utilização do corpo adiposo bucal em diversas lesões/anomalias bucais e procedimentos estético destacando vantagens, limitações e suas consequências na cirurgia oral.
