Having as a starting point the "history of leadership" and, as the point of arrival "the influencing servant leadership in team performance," the research carried out aimed at attesting the knowledge produced and its practical application in organizations by the leaderships. In this regard, knowledge about people management has contributed to the achievement of the proposed goal. The relevance of a work in this perspective presupposes that the role of leadership is to lead its team to achieve the best results, making it indispensable that it knows and practices the scientific knowledge on the subject. It sought to understand the history of leadership, with its theories and styles, the role of the leader within organizations with their skills and abilities, and the contemporary challenges of organizations. The question that guided the research can be thus defined: how does the servant leadership influence the team's results?Resumo: este trabalho é resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a relação de influência, do líder servidor, no desempenho da sua equipe. Tendo, como ponto de partida, a história da liderança e, como ponto de chegada, a influência liderança servidora no desempenho da equipe, a pesquisa realizada objetivou atestar o conhecimento produzido e sua aplicação prática nas organizações pelas lideranças. Neste tocante, o conhecimento sobre a gestão de pessoas, contribuiu para o alcance do objetivo proposto. A relevância de um trabalho nesta perspectiva parte, do pressuposto, que o papel da liderança é levar a sua equipe alcançar os melhores resultados tornando, indispensável, que a mesma conheça e pratique os conhecimentos científicos sobre o tema. Buscou-se compreender a história da liderança, com suas teorias e estilos, o papel do líder dentro das organizações com suas competências e habilidades e, os desafios contemporâneos das organizações.
