This qualitative research aimed to understand the specifics of the performance of clinical psychologists in the face of suicidal patients. Interviews were conducted with three psychologists from the Greater Florianópolis region, who have had experiences with patients who committed suicide or attempted suicide in the course of the therapeutic follow-up they perform, the professionals reported their difficulties and procedures, and that this occurrence differs from others, because often the patient wants nothing to be attended to. Thus, it is necessary to discuss this topic to support victims and professionals.O tema suicídio ainda é um grande tabu, o qual precisa ser abordado com responsabilidade, pois somente dessa forma é possível falar sobre prevenção. Esta pesquisa qualitativa objetivou compreender as especificidades da atuação de psicólogos clínicos diante de pacientes suicidas. Entrevistas foram realizadas com três psicólogos da região da Grande Florianópolis, que já tiveram experiências com pacientes que se suicidaram ou com tentativa de suicídio no curso do acompanhamento terapêutico que realiza, os profissionais relataram suas dificuldades e procedimentos, e que tal ocorrência se difere de outras, pois muitas vezes o paciente não quer atendimento.
