The objective of this monographic work is to analyze and understand the peculiarities related to the work contract of the professional soccer player. For that, it was necessary to know the history of football since its emergence in Brazil and in the world, as well as the Brazilian legislative sporting history in all three periods that have had so far. We analyze the way of forming the special contract of sports work, starting to analyze the subjects of this contract, the terms, form and particularities that make up this contract, such as concentration, additional night, animals and other peculiarities. We also analyze the application of the Consolidation of Labor Laws, since when Law n. 9.615 / 98, the provisions of the CLT will be applied, following this, it was also exposed the divergences that we find concerning the work contract of the athlete, as well as our position regarding the differences presented.O interesse por abordar o assunto do presente trabalho de conclusão de curso surgiu da união da paixão pelo futebol, com as dúvidas que possuía e por ser um tema pouco discutido no meio em que convivo. O objetivo deste trabalho monográfico é analisar e compreender as peculiaridades referentes ao contrato de trabalho do atleta profissional de futebol. Para isso, foi necessário conhecer a história do futebol desde seu surgimento no Brasil e no mundo, bem como o histórico legislativo desportivo brasileiro em todos os três períodos que tiveram até o momento. Analisamos o modo de formação do contrato especial de trabalho desportivo, passando a analisar os sujeitos deste contrato, os prazos, a forma e as particularidades que compõem este contrato, como a concentração, adicional noturno, bichos e entre outras peculiaridades.
