The methodology used in this research was qualitative of the explanatory type with documentary research procedure and the data of a qualitative nature focusing on the contribution of the reduction of the workload in the pilot's work routine and reliability in the Fly-by-wire system. This information was obtained through manufacturers' manuals and articles published in magazines and books in the area. In the end, it is possible to conclude that the Fly-by-wire system is a system that is being used more frequently by major manufacturers such as the Brazilian Embraer, the French Dassault and Airbus, the American Boeing and the Canadian Bombardier. Safety and reliability in the Fly-by-wire system are driving the aeronautical market to use this computer system that replaces cables, pulleys, pulleys, and rods, thus reducing aircraft weight.O presente trabalho tem como objetivo, entender os impactos do sistema Fly-by-wire no desempenho e segurança das aeronaves modernas, abordando a descrição do sistema Fly-by-wire, a sua função, a segurança do sistema, suas vantagens e apresentando o impacto na carga de trabalho dos pilotos em aeronaves com esse sistema. A metodologia utilizada nesta pesquisa foi qualitativa do tipo explicativa com procedimento de pesquisa documental e os dados de natureza qualitativa com foco na contribuição da diminuição da carga de trabalho na rotina de trabalho do piloto e confiabilidade no sistema Fly-by-wire. Estas informações foram obtidas por meio de manuais de fabricantes e artigos publicados em revistas e livros da área. Ao final é possível concluir que o sistema Fly-by-wire, é um sistema que está sendo utilizado com maior frequência pelos grandes fabricantes como a brasileira Embraer, a francesa Dassault e Airbus, americana Boeing e a canadense Bombardier.
