It is characterized as an exploratory research conducted through books, articles, reports. The approach used was qualitative and quantitative. The analysis of the data was made through the subjects presented according to the theoretical basis. It is understood that there are alternative energy sources that can be used in aviation, and that can serve as substitutes for the existing and predominant sources, which are derived from fossil fuels, aiming at reducing the impacts caused to the environment and the implementation of sustainable development.O presente estudo tem por objetivo propiciar uma reflexão sobre as principais fontes de energias alternativas utilizadas na aviação civil e verificar as implicações do seu uso em substituição às atuais. Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratória realizada por intermédio de livros, artigos, reportagens. A abordagem utilizada foi qualitativa e quantitativa. A análise dos dados foi feita por meio dos assuntos apresentados de acordo com a fundamentação teórica.
