Having as base question: What is the legal protection offered to the refugee in national territory? The general objective of this work was to verify the legal protection of the refugee in Brazil, while the specific objectives were to analyze the historical evolution of the refuge and its guiding principles; punctuate the most important organs about this matter; demonstrate an analysis of refugee rights based on Brazilian law; present a current panorama of the refuge in Brazil and demonstrate the main countries that have requested refuge in the last year in Brazil. The present work made possible the comprehension that the institute of the refuge is present from the most remote times and that after the first and second world war, when many had to flee their countries, there was a concern to guarantee a system of protection to the rights humans. In Brazil, in order to meet the growing number of refugees who have come here to seek refuge, it has issued a law entitled "Refugee Statute", Law 9.474 / 97, which made it possible to define refugee status in our territory. International Human Rights Law.O presente trabalho foi administrado por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, com ênfase no direito dos refugiados e sua aplicação no ordenamento jurídico brasileiro. Tendo como questionamento base: Qual o amparo jurídico oferecido para o refugiado em território nacional? O objetivo geral deste trabalho foi verificar o amparo jurídico dedicado ao refugiado no Brasil, enquanto os objetivos específicos foram analisar a evolução histórica do refúgio e seus princípios norteadores; pontuar os mais importantes órgãos acerca da matéria; demonstrar uma análise acerca dos direitos do refugiado com base na lei brasileira; apresentar um panorama atual do refúgio no Brasil e demonstrar os principais países que pediram refúgio no último ano no Brasil. O presente trabalho possibilitou a compreensão de que o instituto do refúgio está presente desde os mais remotos tempos e que após a primeira e segunda guerra mundial, quando muitos tiveram que fugir de seus países, houve uma preocupação a preocupação em garantir um sistema de proteção aos direitos humanos.
