O estudo foi concebido como projeto de letramento, visto que o trabalho com jornal escolar visa a favorecer o compromisso do aluno com sua própria aprendizagem; e como pesquisa participante (DEMO, 2008), visto que, além de criar oportunidades de formação através da participação de todos os envolvidos, o trabalho com jornal escolar atribui caráter político ao conhecimento. Os resultados sugerem, de um lado, que a prática social influencia a produção do gênero jornal escolar e não pode ser excluída do processo de análise genérica; e, de outro, considerando que o gênero é uma materialização discursiva, através do trabalho com gêneros na escola é possível atingir e provocar transformações na dinâmica de funcionamento social dos discursos.In this thesis, I analyze, from the point of view of the Genre Critical Analysis (BONINI, 2011), the relationship between gender and social practice in a school newspaper produced by students of a flow-correction-class of the final years of elementary school in a state public school of Tubarão, SC. The study was conceived as a literacy project, since working with school newspaper aims promoting the student engagement with their own learning; and as a participative research (DEMO, 2008), since, beyond to create learning opportunities through the participation of all of participants, working with school newspaper attributes a political character to knowledge. The results suggest, on one hand, that the social practice biases the production of the school newspaper and cannot be excluded of the process of genre analysis; and, on the other hand, considering genre as a discursive materialization, working with genres in school makes possible achieving and changing the dynamics of social functioning of discourses.pt-BRAcesso AbertoSemióticaAnálise do discursoJornalismo escolarTese
