A sífilis é uma infecção bacteriana exclusiva de seres humanos que é transmitida principalmente através de relações sexuais sem o uso de preservativos. Apesar der ser mais comum em regiões genitais, pode também manifestar em boca. Dessa forma o objetivo desse estudo foi realizar uma revisão de literatura, a fim de conhecer as principais manifestações orais da sífilis, trazendo diversos fatores que proporcionam desencadeamento dessas manifestações. Assim a escolha desse tema tem como base o estudo de pesquisas voltadas para as manifestações orais da sífilis, que embora sejam raras, são importantes para o dentista, possibilitando que este faça o diagnóstico da infecção nos estágios mais leves da doença, intervindo para que não avance e piore ainda mais o estágio da sífilis. Entendendo que é uma infecção, e que ela se manifesta rapidamente podendo levar o paciente a óbito quando não se tem o tratamento adequado.This article aims to understand and identify the oral manifestations of syphilis, syphilis is a bacterial infection exclusive to humans that is transmitted mainly through sexual intercourse without the use of condoms. Although it is more common in the genital regions, it can also manifest orally. Thus, the objective of this study was to carry out a literature review, in order to know the main oral manifestations of syphilis, bringing several factors that provide the triggering of these manifestations. Thus, the choice of this topic is based on the study of research focused on the oral manifestations of syphilis, which, although rare, are important for the dentist, providing the opportunity to diagnose the infection in lighter stages of the disease, intervening so that it does not advance and worsen the disease.
