O objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar a visão dos moradores das comunidades e favelas para melhor compreender a maneira de como ao longo dos anos se expandiu o conceito da psicologia nestes locais, proporcionando uma contextualização e entendimento sobre este espaço e dos indivíduos que o compõem. Para isso, foi utilizada uma metodologia de revisão de literatura sobre o tema demandado, verificando a visão da psicologia como um instrumento de acesso às pessoas no ambiente das favelas, observando a participação e permanência dos moradores nos projetos desenvolvidos pelos profissionais da psicologia e suas técnicas utilizadas para promover a saúde mental dos participantes. A pesquisa evidenciou através de todas as hipóteses levantadas que ainda há muito a ser feito para que a construção dessa relação entre os psicólogos e os moradores das favelas seja mais humana e eficiente com a finalidade de conseguir atender as suas reais necessidades e constatou-se que a atuação psicológica nas favelas vai além do suporte emocional, engajando-se ativamente na transformação social e no fortalecimento das capacidades individuais e coletivas.This work analyzes the way in which residents of communities and slums access and understand the work and interventions of psychology professionals, seeking to see the direct impact of this work on their lives, its benefits and the real improvements provided for this population, considering the full technological development we are experiencing. The aim of this research is to investigate the views of residents of communities and slums in order to better understand how the concept of psychology has expanded in these places over the years, providing a contextualization and understanding of this space and the individuals who make it up. To do this, we used a literature review methodology on the subject, verifying the vision of psychology as an instrument of access to people in the favela environment, observing the participation and permanence of residents in the projects developed by psychology professionals and the techniques used to promote the mental health of the participants. Through all the hypotheses raised, the research showed that there is still a lot to be done to make the relationship between psychologists and slum dwellers more humane and efficient, in order to meet their real needs.
