This study has as general objective to elaborate a business plan for the opening of a company that will produce and commercialize homemade cakes: the Sweet Cake, in the city of Canoas. The specific objectives are: to characterize the business, to make a strategic analysis, to elaborate the operational plan, to elaborate the mar-keting plan and the financial plan. The methodology used in this study is divided into two stages, a qualitative and a quantitative one. In the qualitative research stage, a market research was carried out with potential clients through the application of questionnaires; in conjunction with the collection of secondary data from the business sector in Brazil. The results of the analyzes demonstrate the viability of the business, as well as the growth of this niche in the country.O plano de negócios é uma ferramenta de fundamental importância para o sucesso de uma empresa, que permite ao empreendedor uma visão ampla do empreendimento. Este estudo tem como objetivo geral elaborar um plano de negócios para a abertura de uma empresa que produzirá e comercializará bolos caseiros: a Doce Bolo, na cidade de Canoas. Os objetivos específicos são: caracterizar o negócio, fazer uma análise estratégica, elaborar o plano operacional, elaborar o plano de marketing e o plano financeiro. A metodologia utilizada neste es-tudo é dividida em duas etapas, sendo uma pesquisa qualitativa e outra quantitativa. Na etapa da pesquisa qualitativa, foi feita uma pesquisa de mercado com potenciais clientes através da aplicação de questionários; em conjunto com a coleta de dados secundários do setor de confeitaria no Brasil.
