Para tanto foi utilizado como método de coleta de dados a pesquisa bibliográfica e a quantitativa, onde através deste levantamento foi possível apresentar uma linha de raciocínio, analisando os conceitos de contrato de seguro e seus princípios basilares, bem como as suas cláusulas, sobretudo as cláusulas de agravamento de risco. Por fim, para obter um panorama regional realizou-se uma pesquisa jurisprudencial nos sites dos tribunais do Sul do país, onde a partir das informações obtidas, foi possível visualizar a aplicabilidade da Súmula 620 do STJ nestes tribunais, bem como entender o debate envolvendo o tema embriaguez e seguro de vida.This article tries to present the behavior of the judiciary of the southern region of Brazil in cases related to the topic discussed in Precedent 620 of the STJ, which is risk aggravation due to drunkenness of the insured in life insurance contracts. Therefore the bibliographic and quantitative research was used as a method of data collection, and through this analysis it was possible to present a line of reasoning, analyzing the concepts of insurance contract and its basic principles, as well as its clauses, especially the risk aggravation clauses.
