There is a presentation of the forms of action of the social worker from the beginning of the treatment until the moment of leaving the shelter of the therapy community. The method used to achieve the objective of this article was through the collection of information from the information and experience obtained through the internship, in addition to an interview with the Social Worker of the Instituto Redenção, responsible for the Social Service of the same institution and will be supported by reference. from Social Service authors. O objetivo deste é salientar a importância do serviço social no processo de reinserção de pessoas que permaneceram em tratamento terapêutico contra o uso de substâncias psicoativas na sociedade. Mantem-se a relevância das formas de atuação do assistente social desde a início do tratamento até o momento da saída do acolhido da comunidade terapêutica. O método utilizado para atingir o objetivo deste artigo se deu através do colhimento das informações a partir da documentação e experiência obtida através do estágio, além de entrevista com a Assistente Social do Instituto Redenção, responsável pelo Serviço Social da mesma instituição e será sustentado por referências advindas de autores do Serviço Social. O presente artigo ainda busca abordar todo o processo realizado pelo serviço social, destacando a sua importância na prevenção da recaída do indivíduo após o tratamento terapêutico contra o uso e de substâncias psicoativas.
