Com esse grande aumento da incidência de lesões cerebrais é preciso investigar os possíveis efeitos que essa lesão causa após o evento em atletas adultos. O presente estudo trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica que busca investigar na literatura atual os efeitos deletérios no equilíbrio e na marcha após a concussão decorrente do esporte. As buscas foram realizadas nas bases de dados eletrônicos: PubMed, Scielo, PeDro e Google Acadêmico. Para a busca de dados, foram utilizados os seguintes descritores em Ciência da Saúde (DeCS): concussão cerebral (concussion), fisioterapia (physiotherapy) e esporte (sport), e os estudos foram incluídos segundo critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Todos os artigos incluídos obtiveram os mesmos resultados em que a C.C interfere no retorno ao esporte, onde se conclui que atletas com histórico de C.C realizavam as tarefas e testes propostos de forma mais lenta, o que reflete em distúrbios vestibulares, equilíbrio e na marcha consequentemente.It is known that concussion is a major health issue due to the high rate of trauma. With the increase in the incidence of brain injuries it is necessary to investigate the possible effects that this injury causes after the event in adult athletes. The present study is a literature review that seeks to investigate in current literature the deleterious effects on balance and gait after cerebral concussion resulting from sports. Searches were performed in the following electronic databases: PubMed, Scielo, EBSCO, PeDro and Google Scholar. For data search, the following descriptors were used: concussion, physiotherapy and sport, and the studies were included according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.
