The Brazilian Federal Highway Police has its career organized into classes, which do not present segregations with distinct powers, but rather the progression of a single position. The objective of the present study was to study and analyze the pros and cons of this unique career, especially in the scope of the individual performance of each server and its working relationships. An online questionnaire was presented for the Federal Highway Police's employees to search the structuring aspects of the single career and evaluate whether or not it generates different levels of commitment of the server with the institution, as well as examining how the manager's professional relations with the managed ones Are affected and, finally, identify whether leadership or command ability is affected by the unique career in the PRF.Hodiernamente no setor público, diversas instituições possuem suas carreiras estruturadas em níveis, ou seja, cargos diferentes que abrangem diferentes funções e têm hierarquia entre si. A Polícia Rodoviária Federal possui sua carreira organizada em classes, as quais não apresentam segregações com poderes distintos, mas sim a progressão de um cargo único. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi estudar e analisar quais são os prós e os contras dessa carreira única, especialmente no âmbito do desempenho individual de cada servidor e das suas relações de trabalho.
