The objective was to understand how traffic education in the school environment can improve personal growth and citizenship awareness in students, pedestrians and in future drivers. The methodology involved bibliographic research and project presentation based on the assumptions presented. Constructivism is observed to be an approach in education that states that humans build knowledge on their own, but learning is a social advance that involves language, real-world situations, and interaction and collaboration among students, considered as a central element in the learning process. It is concluded that some teachers still have some difficulties in using the technological instruments in the classroom. For these educators to be able to improve themselves in the digital age, it is necessary for the public authorities to show greater interest in training these professionals through courses, flexible hours lectures so that they can meet the highest possible demand.Esta pesquisa trata da educação escolar no ensino fundamental e sua contribuição para a formação de cidadãos que são partes do processo de segurança no trânsito. O objetivo foi compreender como a Educação para o Trânsito no âmbito escolar pode aperfeiçoar o crescimento pessoal e a consciência de cidadania nos estudantes, atualmente, pedestres e no futuro, condutores e/ou pedestres. A técnica de pesquisa é bibliográfica, tendo como base livros, legislação e artigos. Observa-se o construtivismo como uma abordagem na educação sobre como os seres humanos vão construíndo conhecimento por eles mesmos, mas a aprendizagem é um avanço social que envolve a linguagem, as situações do mundo real, e a interação e colaboração entre os estudantes, considerados como elemento central no processo de aprendizagem. Concluiu-se que alguns educadores ainda apresentam algumas dificuldades em utilizar os instrumentos tecnológicos em sala de aula.
