Monografia Acesso aberto Avaliação de risco na segurança portuária em Suape-Pernambuco/PE: um estudo de caso com a utilização do código internacional para proteção de navios e instalações (ISPS CODE)(2017) Nunes, Jailson da SilvaAfter the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) on September 11, 2001 in the United States, the whole world realized the insecurity we are experiencing and the need to protect ourselves. To prevent the risk of further attacks on strategic targets, such as port facilities and ships, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), through a Diplomatic Conference, which Brazil and 163 other countries are signatories to, establishes guidelines and safety recommendations, in the form of a code known as ISPS-Code - International Code for the Protection of Ships and Port Facilities. The objective of this work was to study the Port Security management process in the port of Suape / PE and its relation with the ISPS Code concepts and applications. Suape is a Brazilian port located in the state of Pernambuco, between the municipalities of Ipojuca and Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. Port Authority invested considerable financial resources in works and equipment to adapt the port to the requirements of the ISPS-Code. In this research, bibliographical research, scientific articles, questionnaires, observation and the collection of documentation as a secondary source, involving: electronic websites, information of the legislation and official body certifications were used as data sources. It was concluded that the Port of Suape has ISPS-CODE certificate - International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, and periodic inspections of CESPORTOS / CONPORTS allow the continuity of the certification. The current conditions of the Port of Suape were sufficient and adequate to international standards.
