Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Funcionalidade no pós-operatório de cirurgia cardíaca: aplicação da escala Permé Intensive Care Unit(2019) Antunes, RosianeABSTRACT: Are considered to be highly complex interventions, cardiac surgeries cause a variety of physiological changes, which can lead to postoperative complications resulting in longer ICU stay and immobilism, leading to functional deficits in the individuals submitted to this procedure. Because of this, it is necessary to evaluate the functionality of these individuals, in order to draw up a therapeutic plan for this group. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the postoperative functionality of cardiac surgery and to correlate the time to reach the maximum functionality in the Perme scale among the groups studied. METHODS: A cross-sectional, prospective and analytical study was carried out with individuals in the postoperative period of cardiac surgery at the Cardiology Institute of Santa Catarina from March to May 2019. Participants' functionality was assessed through the application of the Scale Perme, from admission to the ICU until the maximum scoring was obtained during the hospital stay. RESULTS: Twenty-seven subjects undergoing cardiac surgery were included in the study, of which 70.3% underwent myocardial revascularization (CABG) and 29.6% underwent valve replacement (TV). The mean age was 58.7 ± 7.7 years and there was a prevalence of males in the total sample. Hypertension was the most frequent comorbidity. The mean time to obtain maximum score on the Perme scale was 7.2 days for the MRC group and 4.4 days for the TV group. CONCLUSION: Hypertension and advanced age are factors that have a significant relationship with the functionality of individuals after cardiac surgeries, expressed for the longest time to obtain maximum functionality. The findings of this research validate the importance of evaluating the postoperative functionality of cardiac surgeries, since the procedure affects the functional capacity of the individual during the period of hospitalization. It is necessary to elaborate more studies with larger samples, in order to establish a better evaluation of the data obtained.
