Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Análise do desenvolvimento motor de gemelares lactentes(2019) Schuller, Bruna Alana; Backes, Bruna CristinaObjective: To compare the development of the twins infant engine and their relation with birth order, gestational age, birth weight, head circumference, length of hospital stay and need for ventilatory support. Methods: Quanti-qualitative case series, including twins of both sexes, aged 0 to 15 months. For data collection we used a general data sheet for sample characterization, applied in the assessment together with the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS). Results: In relation to AIMS, 30% presented evident motor delay and 30% risk for motor delay, 20% favorable motor development and the other 20% full motor development. The variables with the highest delay rates were: birth order (30% motor delay evident in the first twin); gestational age less than 37 weeks (30% evident motor delay); extreme low birth weight (20% evident motor delay); hospital stay longer than 30 days (30% evident motor delay) and ventilatory support for more than 30 days (20% evident motor delay). Conclusion: The study showed that delayed motor development is linked to the variables prematurity, extreme low birth weight, shorter head circumference, longer hospital stay and ventilatory support, as well as being present in greater numbers in the first twin.
