It began in 1939 with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and spread throughout Europe involving almost every country in the world until its end in 1945. Brazil has lived at the time, a time of change and its armed forces, especially the Brazilian Army, was needing to go through profound changes in its organization, doctrine and equipment. Brazil sent in 1944, the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) to fight together with the allied forces, the Axis countries in the European battlefields. The FEB was trained and equipped with equipment and doctrine from USA and, victorious, returned to Brazil in 1945, bringing with them lessons that would change the face of EB, adapting it to new concepts of combat, equipping our army with modern materials and reorganizing its military doctrine and its teaching, which still form the basis of EB today. This monograph aims to give an overview and detail of the legislative developments, consequences and contributions to the EB due the participation of Brazil in what was the largest, most dense and bloody military conflict of humanity.
