Artigo Científico Acesso embargado (Des)acolhimento institucional: estudo de caso da trajetória de uma jovem negra(2020) Kuhnen, Milena: According to the statistics of the National Council of Justice (2019), 92,47% of applicants accept to adopt only white children, having only 55,53% of the families that accept black children. Given these data, it is possible to notice that black children/teenagers are less likely to be adopted and are subject to spending more time in adoption homes, taking the risk of maybe never being adopted and remaining until the age of majority in a host institution. It is evident that these preferences of adopters for white children/teenagers occur due to the racism that has existed in our society since the 15th century. In view of this scenario, we sought to identify the possible effects on the mental health of young blacks who spent part of their lives in institutional care and were not adopted until the age of majority. This research presents itself as a case study and in order to carry out this case study, a young black woman from the region of Grande Florianópolis was interviewed. The narratives heard during the interview with the participant were analyzed based on the discursive practices of Mary Jane Spink and Benedito Medrado (2013), and it was obtained as a result that there is a possibility for young blacks to develop psychological suffering.
