Monografia Acesso embargado Gestão em segurança patrimonial corporativa: o objetivo da segurança corporativa no resultado estratégico de uma empresa(2018) Köhler, Carlos AlbertoConsidering the context of security management, this paper presents arguments about the expectations that companies in the industries and distribution centers have regarding security management and what they expect from their security managers. To complement the discussion about the market's security needs, it was shown references of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Private Security or Private Security Management, seeking to discuss how is the academic training of professionals in the area. In this approach, the research starts from a theoretical reference about Security Management, emphasizing how it is inserted in the organizational context, and it is developed with the exposition of data collected from interviews with managers and directors of companies, as well as coordinators of private security courses. These data, combined with theoretical knowledge, indicate that private security managers do not use an effective method or management tools, even refraining from presenting results with indicators. In this way, the security sector has become a commodity, since there are no indicators of the result, and, for this reason, most of the time this section is seen as a sector that generates expenses for the company, leading to the dissatisfaction of the managers of the property security. Thinking about how private security courses are organized in higher education institutions, it is remarkable that it is necessary to re-evaluate the curricular grades of their courses to carry out market research, because there is a gap between the need of the market and the qualification offered to them, compromising the training of their students and their future professional performance.
