Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Automedicação com anti-inflamatório não esteroidais por usuários de farmácia em uma cidade sul catarinense(2019) Modolon, Luana RodriguesSelf-medication is a common practice among the population, mainly to treat self-limited health problems. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) make up one of the most commonly used classes of self-medication. However, it was seen the need to investigate the self-medication with NSAIDs and the determining factors for the adoption of this practice in self-care. The method of interview was used through forms, applied to customers of pharmacies located in the city of Tubarão (SC) between September and October of 2019. Were interviewed 250 individuals who used self-medication, whose 35.6% bought NSAIDs (61% prescription drugs), and 83,6% used the NSAID for their own use. Among the population interviewed, 62.3% were women with an average age of 42.4 (± 15.86), 58.4% with incomplete high school, 53.2% with monthly income of one to two minimum wages, 40.3% had already existing pathologies, 68.8% motivated to buy by the pain and 7.8% influenced to buy by the pharmacist. Moreover, 77.9% were unaware of the drug concentration, 62.3% were unaware of the dosage, 58.4% used the drug when needed and 54.5% could not say who performed the drug dispensing. This research showed that most self-medication involved prescription drugs and patients with hypertension, highlighting the importance of responsible drug dispensing and under the guidance of an appropriate professional.
