Therefore, it is necessary that companies progress gradually in search of optimization of processes, new technologies, always avoiding expenses and with a sustainable vision. Today our great concern is the destination of the waste that once generated, become only accumulated "garbage" and without any use. Observing this situation, we sought a way to contribute, to change a little the face of the scenario in which we live. The reuse of the residual sand from foundry is not only a profitable vision, which we agree is very attractive, but in contributing to the environment, since it does not launch into landfills, it brings us the opportunity to transform waste into raw material, and thus increasing the life of the sand mines. In order to evaluate the possibility of reuse of the ADF, it was submitted to a bench washing process, imitating a large scale process. After this step the material was dried and passed through mesh 20 and mesh 140 sieves, to remove the coarser grains, and fines respectively. Therefore, the granulometry, fire loss, pH, permeability and tensile strength tests demonstrated that their return to the casting process is possible, since the values obtained for such tests were close to the virgin sand values. In this way it was possible to demonstrate its performance by applying 100% of sand recovered in the mold making, and later the potting and obtaining of the metal part.
