Monografia Acesso fechado Ocorrência do caracol africano Achatina fulica bowdich, 1822 (Molusca: Achatinidae) em Santa Catarina no período de 2009 a 2019(2020) Garcia, Márcia Spalding LessaThe African snail Achatina fulica Bowdich, 1822 is characterized as a exotic species that was improperly inserted in the environment causing ecological damage and becoming Intermediate host of patogenic nematodes becoming a public health problem. This species has high adaptability, resistance to abiotic factors, high reproductive potential and general habit. The survey of a state's malacofauna is importante because it covers the area of ecology, human and animal health, thus requiring integrated measures for ecosystem management. The goal of this work was to collect the occurrence of A. fulica and the associated zoonoses in Santa Catarina state. A bibliographic review was conduct to collect data and search for secondary data indexed in journals, essays in scientific articles, books and journalistic texts together with data from government agencies over the past 10 years (2009-2019). The selected data were analyze through graphs and tables, using software such as Excel and QGIZ. As a result, an expansion in the spatial distribution of this Mollusk in the State was observed in the last ten years. The underreporting of the number of A. fulica, as well as a deficient diagnosis regarding associated zoonoses in the State were also observed. The data collected identified the current situation of this mollusc infestation in the State that shows the importance of an implementation of an accessible database and the collaboration of public managers in the fight against the invasive species.
