Resumo
O objetivo deste estudo é aprofundar a análise do desenvolvimento e dos impactos sofridos pelo
setor automobilístico brasileiro, levando em consideração a notória influência da pandemia
global de COVID-19. A análise de dados abrange um exame minucioso do histórico do setor
no país, abordando os principais fatores que influenciaram o mercado atual e os desafios
econômicos enfrentados devido à oferta e demanda. O mercado atual resulta de uma cadeia
produtiva diretamente afetada por variáveis socioeconômicas e fatores como o efeito
substituição, configurando-se como um oligopólio. Dadas essas características, o estudo se
concentra na influência nos preços, pelos impactos causados pela crise sanitária, relacionando os com os desafios do setor, os insumos, a inflação e as estratégias adotadas durante esse
período. A conclusão a que se chega é que a indústria automotiva brasileira foi,
inquestionavelmente, impactada negativamente durante o período da pandemia, com destaque
para o fenômeno do efeito substituição, cujos detalhes são minuciosamente explorados ao longo
deste trabalho. Este fenômeno, amplamente discutido e elucidado, revela-se como um dos
principais catalisadores das oscilações econômicas enfrentadas pelo setor, impondo desafios
substanciais que exigem estratégias resilientes e inovadoras para a sua superação.
The aim of this study is to deepen the analysis of the development and impacts experienced by the Brazilian automotive sector, taking into account the significant influence of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The data analysis encompasses a thorough examination of the sector's history in the country, addressing the key factors that have influenced the current market and the economic challenges faced due to supply and demand dynamics. The current market results from a production chain directly affected by socioeconomic variables and factors such as the substitution effect, forming an oligopoly. Given these characteristics, the study focuses on price influences, considering the impacts caused by the health crisis and linking them to the sector's challenges, inputs, inflation, and strategies adopted during this period. The conclusion reached is that the Brazilian automotive industry was unquestionably negatively impacted during the pandemic, with a particular emphasis on the substitution effect, the details of which are meticulously explored throughout this work. This phenomenon, extensively discussed and elucidated, proves to be one of the main catalysts for the economic fluctuations faced by the sector, imposing substantial challenges that require resilient and innovative strategies for overcoming them.
