Resumo
O presente estudo apresenta como tema o método pilates na dor lombar crônica
inespecífica, tendo como objetivo avaliar a relevância do pilates nas disfunções
musculoesqueléticas e no quadro álgico dos pacientes com Dor Lombar Inespecífica
(DLI). Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa, desenvolvida através de busca nas bases
de dados PubMed, Pedro e Lilacs, incluindo ensaios clínicos randomizados que
abordassem o método pilates na dor lombar inespecífica. Os descritores utilizados
na língua inglesa foram: “pilates”, “low back pain”, somado ao operador booleano
“and”. Como resultados, seis artigos foram selecionados, sendo que destes, cinco
obtiveram resultados positivos, e somente um apresentou resultado similar entre o
grupo controle e o grupo folheto. Sendo assim, é possível concluir que o método
tem reais benefícios no tratamento da DLI.
