Resumo
Este trabalho busca entender quais foram os principais motivos que levaram o fechamento da fábrica e encerramento das atividades da empresa Mercedes-Benz, buscando antes apresentar características fundamentais para o entendimento do funcionamento e organização do setor, entendendo seus principais pontos. Para atingir o objetivo, foram utilizadas metodologias de pesquisa explicativa, aliado à uma abordagem qualitativa de caráter bibliográfico, utilizando livros, artigos científicos, monografias, dissertações, leis e artigos históricos, levando em consideração também, alguns dados quantitativos de pesquisas, jornais e artigos acadêmicos, para melhor entendimento e compreensão dos conteúdos. O trabalho está dividido em dois capítulos, sendo o primeiro, um capítulo referencial teórico para melhor entendimento do funcionamento da indústria automobilística brasileira e mundial, e posteriormente um capítulo voltado para melhor entendimento da empresa Mercedes-Benz. Por fim, entende-se os desafios enfrentados pela empresa, devido as reduções de incentivos, os problemas relacionados aos custos produtivos e ao baixo poder de compra de uma grande parcela da população brasileira, assim como uma mudança de estratégia por parte da empresa, pensando no futuro, com a eletrificação da frota automotiva.
This paper seeks to understand what were the main reasons that led to the closing of the plant and the termination of the activities of the Mercedes-Benz company, seeking first to present fundamental characteristics for the understanding of the functioning and organization of the sector, understanding its main points. To reach the objective, explanatory research methodologies were used, allied to a qualitative approach of bibliographical nature, using books, scientific articles, monographs, dissertations, laws and historical articles, also taking into consideration some quantitative data from surveys, newspapers and academic articles, for a better understanding and comprehension of the contents. The work is divided into two chapters, the first of which is a theoretical reference chapter for a better understanding of how the Brazilian and global automotive industry works, and the second, a chapter focused on a better understanding of the Mercedes-Benz company. Finally, the challenges faced by the company are understood, due to the reduction in incentives, the problems related to production costs and the low purchasing power of a large portion of the Brazilian population, as well as a change in strategy by the company, thinking about the future, with the electrification of the automotive fleet.
