artigos.
Sars-CoV-2 is a zoonotic virus that has a single strand of RNA in its structure. It is responsible for Covid-19, a respiratory and infectious disease. The stage of the disease can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the host's immune response. A disordered immune system response can cause a hemostatic imbalance, leading to thrombosis. The pathogenesis of Covid-19 occurs through the binding of the virus's spike protein to Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE-2), increasing the inflammatory state. The present study aims to relate venous thrombosis in patients affected by the Covid 19 disease with the reaction of the immune system against the Sars-CoV-2 virus. In addition to emphasizing the importance of D-dimer in the prognosis of the disease. The work is a literature review in databases such as Scielo, PubMed, Lilacs, and government article sites. Sars-CoV-2 unbalances the immune system and can lead to hyperinflammation and consequently a hemostatic imbalance. This imbalance causes hypercoagulability in the body and may progress to a critical stage with the installation of Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation and Pulmonary Embolism.
