atuação do psicólogo hospitalar.
A partir disso a discussão foi pautada pelas seguintes
The present research aimed to map the experiences of patients undergoing solid organ transplantation and the importance of the role of psychology professionals in this process. To this end, a brief history of the beginning of transplantation in Brazil is presented, as well as the role of the hospital psychologist. The method used was integrative review, where 28 articles published between 2000 and 2022 were selected for the research from the CAPES, BVS, Scielo, and Pepsic databases using the keywords "Psychology" and "Transplant." The results of the analysis pointed to the prevalence of articles related to kidney transplantation, as well as the prevalence of articles published in the Southeast region, followed by the Northeast region, with an absence in the North and Central-West regions. There was a predominance of authors with nursing backgrounds; however, it was also identified that 10 of the articles were produced solely by psychology professionals. As a result, the study's discussion focused on understanding how individuals experience the transplant process from diagnosis to the period after transplantation. The discussion was based on the following perspectives: the patients' experiences and the psychology involved in the transplantation process. The theoretical framework used was Lev Vygotsky and Valdemar Augusto Angerami-Camon. Therefore, it was recognized how important it is to understand the patients' experiences in a unique way, considering all the individual characteristics, and how psychology professionals are essential in minimizing the suffering caused by the transplantation process.
