dc.description.abstractIntrodução: Com o avanço da tecnologia dos implantes e o consequente aumento da taxa de sucesso, este se tornou um método de tratamento altamente previsível. Entretanto, há complicações associadas ao acúmulo de biofilme, podendo levar a perda óssea peri-implantar, que é definida como o estado crônico da infecção, e ocorre pelo acúmulo de bactérias na região que vai desenvolver um processo infeccioso nos tecidos peri-implantares, podendo levar a perda do implante. As células – tronco são células que possuem grande capacidade de proliferação e diferenciação, podendo se diferenciar em diversos tecidos, como, por exemplo, tecido ósseo. Objetivo: realizar uma revisão da literatura sobre a utilização das células-tronco na regeneração óssea associada ao tratamento da peri-implantite. Metodologia: Revisão integrativa, a partir da identificação do tema e elaboração da questão norteadora com busca sistematizada da literatura realizada entre os meses de setembro e novembro de 2023. Foram realizadas buscas nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e PubMed, excluindo-se artigos publicados há mais de cinco anos. Resultados: Obteve-se uma amostra final de sete estudos, após aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Houve concordância entre todos eles acerca dos benefícios do uso das células-tronco (CT) na osseointegração dos implantes dentários associado com o tratamento cirúrgico, em todos foi constatado a necessidade de mais estudos in vivo e in vitro envolvendo o uso das CT no tratamento da peri-implantite. Conclusões: O uso das células tronco tem sido eficaz no tratamento da peri-implantite, mas apesar do nível atual de clareza acerca do desenvolvimento e tratamento das doenças peri-implantares sugerimos a realização de mais estudos para que o tema seja melhor elucidado para ajudar no tratamento mais eficaz da peri-implantite.pt
dc.description.abstractIntroduction: With the advancement of implant technology and the consequent increase in success rates, this has become a highly predictable treatment method. However, there are complications associated with the accumulation of biofilm, which can lead to peri-implant bone loss, which is defined as the chronic state of infection, and occurs due to the accumulation of bacteria in the region that will develop an infectious process in the peri-implant tissues, which can lead to loss of the implant. Stem cells are cells that have a great capacity for proliferation and differentiation, and can differentiate into different tissues, such as, for example, bone tissue.Objective: to carry out a review of the literature on the use of stem cells in bone regeneration associated with the treatment of peri-implantitis. Methodology: Integrative review, based on the identification of the theme and elaboration of the guiding question with a systematic search of the literature carried out between the months of September and November 2023. Searches were carried out in the Virtual Health Library and PubMed databases. articles published more than five years ago. Results: A final sample of seven studies was obtained, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. There was agreement among all of them on the benefits of using stem cells (CT) in the osseointegration of evident implants associated with surgical treatment, in all of them it was noted the need for more in vivo and in vitro studies involving the use of CT in the treatment of peri-implantitis.Conclusions: The use of stem cells has been effective in the treatment of peri-implantitis, but despite the current level of clarity regarding the development and treatment of peri-implant diseases, we suggest carrying out more studies to improve the topic elucidated to help in the more effective treatment of peri-implantitis.pt
