dc.description.abstractthis work presents the origins and characteristics of the military forces that integrate the region of northeastern Brazil from the 16th century to the present. It highlights the influences to which they were subjected to the military culture developed in the region, exposing the reflexes of Portuguese colonialism, the conquest of the territory, the struggles for its maintenance, highlighting the battles and the separatist insurrectionist movements that occurred there, which came to contribute to the formation of the national identity, to the maintenance of our territorial integrity and to the formation of our Army. It also emphasizes, the moments when the military culture interfered in national affairs, through its mystique, in critical occasions when the nation found itself involved in internal or external issues, which gave rise to moments of interventionism, some with greater control of the central power and others with less, when the provinces or states had greater autonomy. It also presents the role played by Caxias in this context and the actions currently developed by the Army in the region, whether through the Land Force, in the Guarantee of Law and Order or the “helping hand”, these predominantly focused on Subsidiary Actions.en
dc.description.abstracteste trabalho apresenta as origens e características das forças militares que integram a região do Nordeste brasileiro do Século XVI à atualidade. Destaca as influências a que foram submetidas à cultura militar desenvolvida na região, expondo os reflexos do colonialismo português, da conquista do território, das lutas pela sua manutenção, destacando-se as batalhas e os movimentos insurrecionais separatistas que ali ocorreram, os quais vieram a contribuir para formação da identidade nacional, para a manutenção da nossa integridade territorial e para formação do nosso Exército. Ressalta ainda, os momentos em a cultura militar interferiu nos assuntos nacionais, por intermédio da sua mística, em ocasiões críticas quando a nação se viu envolvida em questões internas ou externas, que deram origem a momentos de intervencionismo, uns com maior controle do poder central e outros com menor, quando as províncias ou estados tiveram maior autonomia. Apresenta, ainda, o papel desempenhado por Caxias neste contexto e as ações desenvolvidas atualmente pelo Exército na região, sejam por intermédio da Força Terrestre, na Garantia da Lei e da Ordem ou da “mão amiga”, estas predominantemente voltadas para as Ações Subsidiárias.pt_BR
