With the increase in the number of elderly people with these conditions around the world, prevention and treatment of these people has become a major public health challenge. Sarcopenia, which occurs in aging (progressive loss of muscle mass and strength), has been identified as a common pathway associated with the onset and progression of initial physical disability among the elderly. The focus of this brief review is to show a non-pharmacological solution for the treatment or even prevention of DM2. We also discuss the dangers of this disease for the elderly and the effectiveness of physical exercise/physical activity in its prevention and treatment. Finally, by reviewing some literature, we can observe the positive effect of physical exercise on the global improvement of elderly people with DM2.
