Resumo
Ao longo dos últimos anos, o número de pessoas buscando procedimentos estéticos cresceu. Segundo a Sociedade Internacional de Cirurgia Plástica (ISAPS, sigla em inglês), o Brasil registrou o número de 1,3 milhão de cirurgias em 2020, ocupando o segundo lugar no ranking de países que mais realizam cirurgias plásticas. Ao mesmo tempo, também houve um aumento na procura pela reversão dessas mudanças. Ainda de acordo com a ISAPS, em 2018, 14,6 mil mulheres brasileiras fizeram a retirada de implantes mamários, tanto por questões estéticas quanto de saúde. Em 2019, esse número subiu para 19,4 mil, e, em 2020, chegou a 25 mil. Neste trabalho, por meio de um panorama sobre os padrões de beleza ao longo da história e da Análise do Discurso de matérias publicadas, o objetivo é verificar como a mídia e os veículos de comunicação trataram esse tema.
Over the last few years, the number of people seeking aesthetic procedures has grown. According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Brazil registered the number of 1.3 million surgeries in 2020, reaching the second position in the ranking of countries that perform plastic surgeries the most. At the same time, there was also an increase in the demand for the reversal of these changes. Also according to ISAPS, in 2018, 14.600 brazilian women had breast implants removed, both for aesthetic and health reasons. In 2019, that number rose to 19.400, and in 2020, it reached 25.000. In this work, through an overview of beauty standards throughout history and the Discourse Analysis of published articles, the objective is to verify how the media and communication vehicles have treated this theme.
