Third molars are closely related to the analytical structures that surround them, and these relationships may or may not be the reason for their effect, obstruction to their eruption, or even an increase in the difficulty and complexity of third molar extraction. Depending on the level of impact and deposition that the mandibular third molar experiences, its avulsion can be extremely traumatizing and result in complications such as severe pain, post-operative infection, or damage to the inferiornerve-bond system. Intentional Partial Odontectomy (OPI), also known as coronectomy or "root burial", is a surgical technique used in the extraction of teeth close to the noble structures of the vestibular cavity. Therefore, to understand this technique and the need for intervention, in order to bring as results the contexts relatedto the theme, based on a literature review methodology, the present work seeks to addknowledge to the community as a whole.
