A tese apresenta, inicialmente, fatos sobre a presença do negro no meio urbano de Porto Alegre, parcialmente extraídos de minha memória como cidadã de porto alegre e participante ativa no movimento negro e no Grupo Cultural Razão Negra. Através de pesquisa de campo é reconstituída a história do Grupo Cultural Razão Negra-GCRN, no Movimento Negro da capital, entre as décadas de 1970 e 1980. A história do Grupo, denominado anteriormente de Grupo Nosso Teatro (1976), está documentada cronologicamente e destaca nos textos da militância o discurso como ferramenta de resistência. Os depoimentos dos ex-integrantes do GCRN dão voz às vivências experienciadas e estão transcritos e contextualizados no último capítulo. Os dados irão contribuir para futuras pesquisas, além de propiciar que eu transmita as experiências vivenciadas, na qualidade de pesquisadora e como membro ativo do início ao encerramento das atividades do Grupo Cultural Razão Negra. Os fatos da memória e da história me oportunizam transitar da posição de participante ao assentamento da trajetória de parte do Movimento.
This dissertation presents, initially, a series of facts about the presence of black people in the urban landscape of Porto Alegre. Those facts are partially derived from my own memories, both as a citizen of Alegre and an active member of the Black Movement and of the Cultural Group Razão Negra.Through field research, the history of the Cultural Group Razão Negra (GCRN) is recounted as part of the Black Movement in the Capital City of Rio Grande do Sul between the 1970's and the 1980's. The history of the Group, formerly called Grupo Nosso Teatro (Group Our Theatre, 1976), is chronologically documented and underlines the political discourse in the texts of the militants as a tool of resistance. The interviews with the former members of the GCRS are able to give voice to vivid life experiences. Full transcriptions and contexts can be found in the last chapter. The data collected in this dissertation will contribute to future research, and, at the same time, are giving me the opportunity of passing along my life experiences both as a researcher and an active member from the beginning to the end of the activities of the Cultural Group Razão Negra. The facts of the memory along with the facts of the History allowed me to make a transition from a participant to an annalist of the trajectory of a part of the Movement.
