Resumo
Este estudo analisa criticamente a formação, evolução e declínio da União das Nações Sul-Americanas (Unasul) de 2008 a 2018, sob a perspectiva do Intergovernamentalismo Liberal, uma teoria de integração regional das Relações Internacionais. Pretende-se investigar em profundidade os eventos que moldaram a trajetória da Unasul, identificando os fatores que contribuíram para sua formação, as dinâmicas que influenciam sua evolução e os elementos que resultaram em seu declínio, especialmente com a ascensão de governos conservadores na região. Essa análise crítica busca oferecer insights significativos sobre as complexidades, desafios e impactos das mudanças políticas nos países da região para o processo de integração regional sul-americano. As técnicas de pesquisa para este artigo foram revisões bibliográficas baseadas em documentação indireta, composta por fontes primárias, como tratados e documentos internacionais, e fontes secundárias, como literatura.
This study critically analyzes the formation, evolution and decline of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) from 2008 to 2018, from the perspective of Liberal Intergovernmentalism, a theory of regional integration of International Relations. The aim is to investigate in depth the events that shaped the trajectory of Unasur, identifying the factors that contributed to its formation, the dynamics that influenced its evolution and the elements that resulted in its decline, especially with the rise of conservative governments in the region. This critical analysis seeks to offer significant insights into the complexities, challenges and impacts of political changes in the region's countries for the South American regional integration process. The research techniques for this article were bibliographic reviews based on indirect documentation, consisting of primary sources, such as treaties and international documents, and secondary sources, such as literature.
