Construction industry in Brazil is in constant evolution and energy efficiency is a desired goal in the modern buildings. United with the pursuit of low energy consumption, the shopping center, as commercial enterprise, meet the needs of its customers providing environmental comfort. The RTQ-C (Technical Requirements of Quality) is based on assessment of three main requirements: the thermal performance of the building envelope; the efficiency and power of the lighting system; and the efficiency of the air-conditioning system. The thermal comfort is defined by the building envelope and air-conditioning systems. In this context, the actual work shows the procedures and assessment of the building envelope of a shopping center located in Florianópolis, SC. The building was assessed using the Prescriptive Method, according to the RTQ-C methodological process. To this partial labeling analysis were used the building architectural projects and on site measurements. At the end, the technical conclusion of this work shows that the studied shopping got Level A in energy efficiency of the envelope, reinforcing that a thermally comfortable environment is a decisive factor to keep the customers in the building for a longer time.
