A análise

Introduction: Effective emergency management is essential for the safety and preservation of lives. Health education, especially in first aid, should be a priority in schools. Law nº 13.722/2018 makes first aid training mandatory for teachers and employees of public and private schools of basic education and children's recreation. Objective: This study seeks to evaluate the first aid knowledge of teachers in Brazilian public schools through a national literature review. Methodology: An integrative review on first aid and teacher training was conducted using the PubMed and SciELO databases. Inclusion criteria included primary studies from the last 5 years in Portuguese and English. Result: Fourteen articles were selected after analysis of 37 studies related to the objective that addressed knowledge and practice in first aid by teachers. The analysis of these studies revealed that most of them (71.43%) indicated a low level of knowledge in emergency situations. Final Considerations: It is essential to integrate health educational actions into nursing practice, expanding its reach beyond the care setting and encompassing the school context. It is widely believed that nursing has a valuable potential to contribute significantly to health education in educational institutions. KEYWORDS: First aids; Health education; Public and private schools.
