Objective: to identify the main difficulties that cancer patients face in relation to food after being diagnosed with cancer, its consequences and how nutrition can intervene in these cases. Methodology: a literature review was carried out in order to seek evidence on eating difficulties generated by cancer and its treatment. Results: it was observed that most patients had at least one eating disorder, a consequence of the disease symptoms and side effects of the treatment. Conclusion: it was concluded that there is a high prevalence of disorders and eating disorders in cancer patients caused by treatment, the aggressiveness of the disease and psychological issues, leading some patients to malnutrition or obesity.
